Myspace

I’m a little more than irritated by an article I just read on the beeb website. Although not DC specific, I think it’s something that many DCers use, not to mention us here at Metblogs (go ahead, friend us!); with many of my friends listing their age as 14.

A 14 year old girl form Texas is also suing the owners of the website for $30m (£16.2m) after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 19 year old man she met on the site.

The lawyers representing the girl claim the site does not do enough to protect minors.

I’m sorry, but what are the parents doing to protect minors?

Hmmmm?

Hey if KFC can be sued for making me fat, then MySpace can be sued for exposing me to perverts… right? This is the true freedom of the modern age, between lawyers and psychiatry — nothing’s my responsibility anymore! *woo-hoo!

Of course, the final delicious irony would be if the owner of website launched a freaking HUGE counter-suit against the parents. I’d toast marshmallows over the roasting bones of that one.
