Yeah yeah yeah, I know I’m supposed to be out honeymooning and stuff, but I just have to ask.

Maryland readers, what does SWAT team mean in your state that is so different than what it means to the rest of us?

And if it’s not different, perhaps you can explain why your churches and rotary clubs have them?

Heh, I just like the idea of a Church having a SWAT team.

Interior, church basement. Four elders of the First Presbyterian Church of Easton, MD are gearing up. Each are wearing body armor emblazoned with SWAT and a crucifix over the heart.

Elder Deakins: This one sounds like a tough one, boys. Local satanist cult is holding two girls hostage and threatening a virgin sacrifice. They’re armed with ceremonial daggers and pentagrams. Thank God we’ve got the LORD on our side.

Elder George: Amen to that, Elder Deakins. Ever since we got the Lawful Ordinance Retrieval Device, we’ve not lost a hostage!

Elder Benedict: That thing’s a real lifesaver!
