An Associaton For Everything

Wha?

It’s like in Chicago, where almost the single-hottest contested seat is for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District; basically, the people who ensure that you and I get clean and safe drinking water. Incredibly importatnt positions that nobody thinks about.

Drinking water administrators oversee arguably the most important infrastructures in the country.

Congress provides funding for these local infrastructures.

I think an association that advocates collectively on behalf of these administrators makes sense.

Well, you obviously have no idea what it takes to get clean water to come out of the tap. That’s OK, I guess, but even a little thinking about it would make you realize how important it is, and how important it would be for administrators across the country to share information.

It’s not that I think drinking water that is safe and free of nasties is so bad, I’m just astonished that there are remoras on the project, sucking away money from state water authorities, so that the group can have its very own association.

Proof positive that associations like these, with very small memberships and apparently fairly high real estate needs, not to mention personnel needs, that necessitate an office just off K St…

How much is this association costing the various states who are members?
