Tag and Tagged
Though Don Whiteside is the platemeister around here, this was one that I couldn’t pass up. I was walking back from a client’s office, when I came across two women gawking at the license plate.
I didn’t get it right away. It was just another temporary tag on another car.
Then I saw the rest of the car it was on.
The three of us laughed until the oncoming traffic honked at us to move. Why would you buy a brand new car that looked like that?!
It’s a fixer-upper :)
That is one way to put it!
This may come as a suprise to you, but the world has a breed of people we call…poor. Often, the plates of poor people’s cars are stolen. This person probably has temporaries while waiting to either afford new plates or just recieve new plates. It’s better than posting your plate number in a cardboard sign in your rear-window, another innovative solution.
Why thank you, Poor Person, for castigating me for finding humor in all of it.
That would be a hoopde – cheap car for getting around. Also, a while back the City Paper did an article on how temp tags were abused to skip plate & insurance costs.
Funny you should mention it. I just bought this Sunday night. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/car/160413150.html
