That’s a great review of Tristan’s, thanks for posting the link! I’ve always wanted to try that place as I’m a big fan of Venice.

Just a note that the restaurant’s name is actually “Goldoni” not “Goldini” – Carlo Goldoni was a famous Venetian playwright, hence the restaurant is roughly translated as “Goldoni’s Theatre”

I laughed when I read your comment about the butter – since that’s something I am a complete crank about (among many), I think that’s a totally reasonable thing to mention in a restaurant writeup! There’s no excuse for bringing me butter fresh from the cooler. It’s completely unspreadable and useless.

Mike – I read the text before the headline and when at the end of the first graph I was thinking “black hole? He hasn’t been to Teatro.” Ha! Then I kept reading… :)

The bar lunch menu at Teatro is quite reasonable, and includes the wine. One of my clients refers to it as their cafeteria.
