i need enlightenment

on two topics:

1) on saturday, while wandering through georgetown, a gentleman was singing loudly in foreign language and proceed to bow to each female he passed by. my friend thought he was singing in gaelic. the man had a wreath of flowers on this head and feet and a green plaid sweater. he was followed by an entourage of what looked like frat boys taking pictures and wondering what this dude was all about.

2) on monday, and at least once a month, there’s some sort of police check-point / road-block coming out of the dulles airport. i’m always headed in the other direction, but it looks like a speed trap and yet, i don’t think it is. are they performing random searches? but if they were, wouldn’t they seach vehicles on their way into dulles? is it to catch people who cheat the toll road? are the police there just super mean (i’ve gotten two tickets through there — grrrrrrr)?

ah march…a month of confusion for me. where do babies come from?

I’ve always had this fantasy that those “Speed Enforced By Aircraft” signs meant that A-10 Thunderbirds strafed speeding cars. I wonder if instead it’s something much more like that speed trap idea? Call in the violation from the air to a ground based cop who pulls over the intended…

Perhaps Goofy Georgetown Guy was celebrating the arrival of Spring a few days early… singing in gaelic, wearing flowers and giving them to girls all sounds very neo-druidic to me.
