that is cute of your dad, stacey. i hope he's careful though -- i always worry when i see older men shoveling, because so many have heart attacks while shoveling snow. i'm glad the property manager clears the snow for my dad's complex. when i spoke to him around 3 pm this afternoon they had gotten about 18 inches up in connecticut and it was still coming down.

When I was home in Detroit for Christmas, I woke up one morning to shovel-against-pavement sounds (totally normal for almosst every morning in Michigan during the winter) and looked outside to see my cute retired dad not just shoveling, but shoveling piles on to the grass and then proceed to use that snow to build a kick-butt snow man. No reason - just a 63-year-old that now lives in Florida most of the year feeling like he misses out on the fun of snow. It was totally cute, and was for sure proud of it, like I'm sure this little guys maker was!

I would put the guy who dumped the snow from his car into the street above the guys who don't clean the snow off the roof of their cars. I've seen sheets of ice fly off the top of cars. I'm surprised we haven't heard of serious accidents from it.
