music history lesson on 94.7

classic rock station 94.7 is airing some cool feature programming, “30 years in 30 days.” starting Feb. 1 w/ 1966, each day they’re playing songs from that year through 1995. i am pretty impressed — it’s a lesson in classic rock music history. for example, i learned that in 1967 the doors were banned from ed sullivan for not “sanitizing” some lyrics in their performance of “light my fire”.

tune-in! knowledge like that could help greatly at monday night’s trivia fight.

that’s cool, but is anyone else disturbed by the thought that music from 1995 is “classic rock”?

yeah, i’m sure they’ll be some years that are a stretch. on my way in this morning, i swear i heard a little tom jones…more like classic pop, but i still give 94.7, “the arrow”, an A for effort…
