New voice of Metro to be picked today
A panel of three judges — the head of marketing for Metro, a representative of the ad agency under contract with Metro and a former local anchorwoman, will choose the new voice of Metro today (The Post). Finalists include two traffic reporters, a couple of behind the scenes broadcast producers, a few DJs, a teacher and a car dealer employee. You can listen to all the finalists on washingtonpost.com and vote for your favorite, though it will have no effect on the outcome. Will the people’s choice that same as Metro’s?
Wow! What a selection!
John Howell sounds like the voices in my head – I mean the voice of god himself. But Randi Miller – she can talk to me all ride long!
Okay Geek question here – how can I grab a sample of John Howell’s message? I want my phone to alert me to a new text message with his deep, melodic, authoritative, and promising: “the doors are opening”
$5 for that…
There’s some apps that will record anything coming through your sound card. http://www.download.com/SoundCapture/3000-2168_4-10117490.html?tag=lst-0-1 is one and seems to work well. Check your email :)
Having now listened to them all, I am apparently in the minority – Angela Stevens. I don’t know that I like her voice the best, but I found it the most clear and articulate of the bunch, and most likely to be audible over some noise. She’s second-to-last with just 3.8% of the vote as it stands, however.
