Perhaps the two main streets can be restriccted to just buses, trolleys, horse & carriage and maybe even taxis during peak tourist months during peak hours. Like Memorial Day through Labor Day between 10am to 7pm.

? - Just an idea.

Regardless, I am ecstatic with the chosen location for the new National Museum of African American History and Culture! The Mall may be getting a bit crowded, but this was a necessity considering the huge impact race has had on our country, especially the relationship between blacks and whites. Maybe the museum can help bridge the understanding between the two cultures the way the Holocaust Museum helped me understand their history. Only through education of others do we begin to accept them.

In my dream world both Constitution and Independence are closed off and made pedestrian only. Any traffic through is underground, if at all. As it is I'm amazed we go even a day without a tourist hit by a car...
