33 + 1/3 Birthday Ideas

So I’m turning 33 in Feb – the 9th to be exact, and I need your help: how should I celebrate this day? I’m used to being out of the country on my birthday – say a birthday boy on a boat, but this year I’ll be DC-bound. Work and all that.

So help me – what should a joe-cool urban guy like me do on my b-day in DC? A par-tay in DC? Or an old-skol bowling alley? Maybe something different? And would it be better than a DC Libs get together?

Agh, the stress! It makes me want to be twenty-nine for the fifth time.

Help your elder out, would ya?

So funny – I was just going to post something similar myself, as I’m turning 35 on February 3rd… ah, the birthday pressure!!

What better way to celebrate getting closer to the final adventure than a zombie flashmob?

What 29(+5) year old should do to celebrate his birthday?

1 – go-carting with supermodels; hot tubbing afterwards
2 – dart tournament where the loser buys you two shots and s/he drinks a shot with you
3 – put you up for sale for a day on ebay; the highest bidder gets to do body shots off your bellybutton
4 – doll you up and let you perform at Perry’s
5 – beer pong contest; last one standing carries you home in a wheel-barrow

Also, reggae band and lots of leis.

As Fred Flintstone sez, “Everyone into the pool!”

Jenn L and Medusa – what about an all February Birthday par-tay? Say something along the lines of 33 + 1/3 birthdays for all, especially those on the 3rd or those 1/3 of 36?

I know – we could call all February babies out for Medusa’s Depeche Mode night on the 22nd at the Blue Room!!!

Odds are good I could be persuaded to come out for an evening of Depressed Mode….

    All right …

Let Feb. 22nd (our all Depeche Mode night) be an official call for those born in February! I hope to see you all there! :)

You are still technically a YOUNG ADULT, Wayan–this means everybody below 34 still gets student airfares in Europe–not that you need that type of cheapskate attitude at your age.

On my 30ish something birthday–bungee jumping is very cool!

Nope, I am no longer a “young adult” in Europe. That would be 26 or under. To quote from SN Brusseles Airlines“We have produced special fares for young people aged under 26 and senior citizens aged over 60….you will be eligible to receive the special Discovery Pass and travel on favourable terms in Europe.”

That’s the reason why I partied in Sweden and Denmark in January 1999 – days before my 26th birthday.
