it looks like the crazy weather we’ve been having is confusing the cherry blossoms. (at least i think these are cherry blossoms, can anyone definitively identify these buds?) i love cherry blossoms — in fact they are one of my very favorite things about living here — but there is something quite sad about seeing them in january.

i hope this doesn’t mean we are in for a sub par cherry blossom season this april. so far there’s no word on the 2006 bloom from the national park service, but i promise to keep close tabs on the cherry blossom beat.
