Idiot in the Morning

Some of you may or may not be aware that Sporstalk 980 moved its studios further out into the boonies, known to most people as Rockville (or some of those whereabouts). It seems to have gone well for most of their staff, with the exception of one Anthony Kornheiser, who has turned down no opportunity to complain of the inconvenience the new location has been for him.

While I myself have on occasion thought to myself, “Tony, give it a rest!”, only a shock jackass would actually consider it such a grade-school level affront, that he would mount a vindictive campaign to bring him down a peg or two. idiot in the Morning of Donkey 101, you know the one who in lieu of laughter, resorts to braying….., well said Idiot has laid down the gauntlet. He is so offended by Tony’s desire for privacy and punctuality that he has requested his listeners to all but stalk Mr. Tony.

I wouldn’t normally be upset about this if it was someone who didn’t deserve the airs he puts on, like say, Dan Snyder. But Kornheiser is about as close to legend in this town as you could get. Tony is an entertainer, his job is to communicate to large audiences, audiences larger than what Idiot has. Tony is not here to be my friend. Tony has enough friends. He doesn’t need more. He may even have friends that he’s willing to give away. Scrawling his name on a restaurant napkin is more of an accomplishment for you than it is for him. If the guy wants to get from point A to point B without being accosted by people he will never see again, its his perogative.

Idiot may feel threatened now that he has to share the premises with a bigger star than he ever will be. Make no mistake, Maggy can eats Idiots’ cats any day of the week and twice on Shabbath. Idiot has every right to poke this hornets nest. Hell, I’ll even respect it enough to say it could even be justified. However, Idiot has drawn a line in the sand and I’m scoring one squarely for the Orange Guy. And he’s probably not even out of bed yet!

Y’know, I heard that section of the show this morning, with everyone bagging on Tony K, and I gotta say, completely bogus. Tony K may be a bit of a wanker, but that doesn’t justify Elliot trying to become the next Stern by annoying the fuck out of other people who work for his company.

I mean, couldn’t he at least be original about it?

It’s a ploy for ratings. They’re probably colluding on it, or at least Eliot’s doing it with the blessing of management. You know, like when the owners of certain other blog networks come stir shit up in our comments to try to get more traffic…
