Bethesda Olsson’s to close

In an e-mail newsletter sent out today, Olsson’s Books announced that their Bethesda location is closing after the holidays. The cause: the building is being redeveloped into luxury condos. The local chain has not been able to find a suitable new location in Bethesda and is looking into Silver Spring.

Olsson’s in Rosslyn and Metro Center have also closed in recent years. Stores in Dupont Circle, The Lansburgh in Penn Quarter, Arlington/Courthouse, Old Town Alexandria and National Airport remain open for business.

I hate it when this happens, Olsson’s is such a great chain here in DC and it’s really tough they get closed down. I miss them loads at Metro Center.
