Navy wins, the trophy comes back to Annapolis!

Navy did it again, winning 4 in a row against Army and keeping the Commander in Chief’s trophy. Navy now takes the lead in the series, something they haven’t done since 1991 and the midshipmen have to be one happy bunch. When I was a plebe (every USNA grad knows that phrase), the tradition was to grant “carry on” to the plebes (freshmen, short for plebian) until Christmas break. We barely won our plebe year in 1989 with a field goal by Frank Schenk with 11 seconds remaining in the game. Suffice to say, “carry on” was sweet as the traditional plebe year “training” ceased for almost 3 weeks.

I remember that game, my senior year it was. My mom ran up to Frank in the hotel after the game and hugged him.

What an unfortunate name for a kicker, though.
