The weirder the better

I have just realised that not only do we have the rare chance to see Chicks on Speed tonight at Nation, but we’re also being graced with the bizarre presence of their label-mates PlanningToRock

“Once described as “The crazy love child of Kate Bush and Ozzy Osbourne”…….on stage PTR knows exactly how to draw us into her world. Filled with bizzare make-believe characters that strut behind her on a video screen, whilst PTR unleashes her wild and highly charged vocals from underneath homemade helmets and self-styled props…….taking us willingly and ever deeper into the extraordinary world of Planningtorock.”

and Kevin Blechdom!

“A PSYCHO-SEXUAL DELUSIONAL BALLOON-HEAD WITH A LAPTOP, A KEYBOARD, A BANJO, AND SONGS FROM THE HEART. SHE THINKS IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A BAD IDEA.”

To get some idea of how strange these musical genuises are I suggest following the above band links – altho the Kevin Blechdom link is not for the easily squeamish!

so sad the club was filled with so many with so little appreciation for the weirder things… The show should have been in a smaller venue, like the black cat, 9:30 or even dc9. A great show none-the-less.
