With the weather as perfect as it was today, and after yesterday’s life of excess, I felt it was necessary to get back to my casual living roots. I met my friends Jason, Dave and Beth out for pancakes at the Original Pancake House in Falls Church and had an omelette that absolutely was larger than it should have been, it was easily 8″ in circumference and about 3″ thick.

Stuffed, we drove up to College Park to the Disc Golf formally referred to as “Calvert Road”, but we all just call it College Park. Long, flat and open, the course is perfect for some late fall play. We weren’t the only ones with that idea, however, and the course was packed full of hardcore disc’ers demanding silence and a lack of movement in their peripheral vision. Not realized we’d stumbling onto a course full of absolute lunatics, we continued our play in our usual gregarious fashion. It was the last of the season, how could we not?

We drove back around the Beltway, listening to the Redskins turnover the ball time and time again before we finally arrived back in Virginia to grill bratwurst in beer and watch the late game on the television. But really, I can feel it in my shoulder, and in my hamstrings, I have disc’ed today, and that is all that matters
