One of the unique and most enjoyable things about a David Wilcox performance is the storytelling aspect of it. And, you're right, he's very funny!

It is really hard to compare him to anyone as he has a very individual sound and voice. Absolutely great lyrics and stellar guitar playing abound, always!

Yeah, I saw David for the first time (but long time listener) on my 30th birthday in March at the Birchmere. 'East Asheville Hardware' is my overall favorite album (really encompasses how his live shows are), but my favorite song is 'Advertising Man'... I don't think James Taylor is too far off, but I think David is a better songwriter (and funnier too!). He's his own man.

[trivia: he used to live in Columbia, MD for 8 years while his wife studied accupuncture, they just recently "moved" by retro fitting a Ford Excursion with a bio-diesel engine for towing their home across country]
