I've sworn off "concert pavillion" shows after two awful ones at Merriweather and subsequent dissatisfaction with just large venues. I usually prefer the 9:30 Club and other venues that are more intimate.

With that said, however, I'm heading up to NYC with my wife to see day two of a two-day, two stadium rock festival. Across The Narrows.. I hope it's worth the drive and gas prices...

Good luck at Nissan, my wife saw Rush with some co-workers out there, and had nothing but bad things to say about it. Viva-la-Birchemere!

It's not the going, it's the returning. 3 hours is about what it took us to leave after a show there two summers ago. Traffic control is horrendous, and at the end of the day, there's still only one road out of there. Be on your feet for the encore, and packed and ready to go. Either that, or bring stuff to tail gate with after the concert!

It's even more of a pain getting out from there. I proposed to my wife at Nissan towards the end of a show there - we planned to go tell her parents afterwards - but it took us about 3 hours to get out of the parking lot!
