ATM’s in the Metro

Did ya see him yesterday? The “ATM Guy” a 7-foot tall walking Chevy Chase Bank ATM mascot in a special Chevy Chase Bank-wrapped Metro train? Yeah, I know, I cried when I found I missed him too. Damn.

He was out and about promoting Chevy Chase Bank’s ATM’s in 34 Metrorail stations. Yep, now you can get cash out just to turn around and put it in

Yeah, thank our congress for opening up the field to ‘competition’ and removing impediments to collective bargaining. When fees had to be charged bank to bank and passed on that way to the consumer we all paid, at most, under $1. Now it’s not uncommon for me to see fees of over $2 in high-demand or under-represented areas. And it’s not the only way they’re screwing us.

Tell me about it. I’m only glad that I left banks for discount brokerage accounts that reimburse ATM fees years ago. Even then I had to leave Charles Schwab when they when upper-class and abandoned us proletariat.
