Ugly Shirt Contest
Damn, there are some ugly shirts out there. Ugly enough to make you wonder what the designers were thinking. Better yet, what were the fabric makers thinking? Ugly enough, folks are stealing my shirts to cover their own bad style.
Last night, I ran into a good example of ugly shirt insanity. See that guy to my right? The one in the red casino floor carpeting shirt? How bad is that pattern? Can you believe he could leave his house with that thing on?
Personally, I give him props for looking like such a fool. And props to his boyfriend for standing next to him. Me, I was slagging his shirt mercilessly and he got offended. This photo was me telling him I liked the shirt and I wanted to capture the moment. Fool. That shit hurts the eyes.
Contest Alert!
Now here’s the question to you: Do you have a shirt, or more to the point, a photo of a shirt worse than this? If you do, and you’re brave enough to wear it in public, I’ll buy you a drink. Yep, you read that right, booze for your bravery.
So get snapping in your snappiest. Take a photo of you (or someone you love) in the visual offense, in public, in DC, post it on Flickr, send me the link, and I’ll send you $5 for a drink on me. Oh, and don’t cry to me if your arrested by the Fashion Police first.
Ok, not to pick a fight, but I am starting to notice that many of Wayan’s posts include pictures of himself. What gives?
1) Shameless self-promotion?
2) Raving narcissism?
3) Target practice?
4) Free personal ad?
Martin,
The boring answer is that we’re asked to write about our lives in DC, which means photos of us doing things. Add to it I am almost never without a camera, and well, here we are.
I’d love for us to have a weekly photo contest, say a Friday post with the week’s winners and next week’s subject, so I can stop using all my own stock to illistrate posts.
Care to help? Then send in a ugly shirt pic and I’ll gladly put you up!
Wayan just loves Wayan, Martin :)
Completely off-topic, I think I met that dude on the street today. He and some other people were out soliciting donations for the Human Rights Campaign.
The thing that stands out more to me are the “props to his boyfriend for standing next to him” … I only see TWO people in that picture ….
