Would that be the Flip or the Flop?

Whenever I see a lone shoe or flip-flop on the roadside I always wonder how it got there. Was it tossed by a one-legged man who only needed the left shoe? Was it thrown at a lover in anger or lost in a move-in with someone better? Did it fly out of a garbage truck or off the foot of a runner? Have you ever lost just one flip-flop? Me, I never.

Then again, I’ve never gone looking for the owner either.

I’ve never lost one shoe, but my partner did lose one of his Birks out of his bike trunk on his commute home one day. Never did find it either — a pricey loss.
