Boy, oh boy

The National Zoo has finally discovered, a month later, that their newest little panda is a boy. He is now about 1.82 pounds and a foot long. Visitors still can’t see him, and won’t be able to for two more months, but Tian Tian, the proud papa, can be seen in the outer part of the exhibit. By the way, the zoo vets took so long to discover the cub’s sex because they had to wait for mommy Mei Xiang to leave him for a few minutes.
