Beer + Lime + Ice + MARC = heaven

Now this is how travel should be. I am sipping my favorite summertime drink, beer + lime + ice, and damn its nice. Nice for I’m not crammed into an airline seat as I enjoy my refreshing beverage. I am spread out in a MARC train seat, brew in hand, smile on face.

The MARC trains, like Amtrak, allow drinking and riding, the civilized way we should all travel. To celebrate, I have myself a ice cold Sapporo, bought in the mad rush through Union Station, and poured over a cup of ice with lime liberated from a bar I wizzed by on the way to my train.

Next to me commuters of all types oddly do not enjoy the liberty of sweet libations. They are all government types from my vantage, too straight and narrow to be drinking on the train. For me, boozing on the rails might just be a decent reason to live in Baltimore.
