Numbers Don’t Look Right

Local journalists took it upon themselves to investigate Nationals Third Baseman Vinny Castilla’s claims that the dimensions of the field at RFK Stadium may not be the same as advertised. Team officials intervened, but had an independent surveyor come in to verify the dimensions. Sure enough, their findings (394 ft.) were closer to Castilla’s estimate of 395 ft. to the stadiums listing of 380.

Also, the Nats loss last night to the Houston Astros drops them into a tie with 13 time defending division champion, the Atlanta Braves. With Guzman benched on account of his struggles at the plate, Livan Hernandez’ latest outburst, injuries and a sagging bullpen, it seems like the team has a few too many distractions heading into the dog days.
