Those Vienna Sausages

According to Money magazine – Vienna, Virginia is the 4th best town to live in out of the entire country. Scanning the top 100 places to live list, I only see a few other places near the DC area – Gaithersburg places at 17, Ellicot City MD at 20 and Charlottesville VA at 90.

There are all kinds of neat stats on each town, and they include the losers too like Alexandria and the District itself.

So CNN says the best town in America is one that bans the sale of alcohol, half the work force commutes to Philadelphia, and a shopping center anchored by Costco and Target opened last year.

Wow, I do NOT see that as the real American dream. That to me would be an asphyxiating death from boredom and flaccidity. Give me DC, NYC, London, Moscow, even Ulaan Baator or Addis Ababa long before Moorestown, NJ or any suburb like it.

Once again Wayan, I whole-heartedly concur. (I feel like I’m turning into your ‘yes man’)

Considering I actually grew up in #12, I’d have to authoritatively agree with you two. ;)

I always am mystified at ranking lists like this, especially on something as subjective as best place to live.

But this particular list gives you a clue as to what the editors of Fortune find valuable, as if there was any doubt…

Sorry, I meant the editors of Money, not Fortune (hair-splitting semantics? or Connecticut snobbery? you be the judge ;)
