Jocelyn Avery, a former wedding consultant, has opened Le Petite Wedding Chapel in Hyattsville. It’s open 24 hours a day and has 12 chaplains. Ceremonies are anywhere from $99 to $1,050. Avery claims that ceremonies only take an hour. She says that part of the reason she started the chapel was to provide low-budget weddings for couples who ordinarily could only afford a justice of the peace. The chapel, which opened in April, has only hosted nine weddings so far, but I’m sure we could all fix that with a little field trip….
