“Please tell me I’m on drugs and I didn’t just see that”

That was yelled by a Nationals fan during the 8th inning of tonight’s Nats/Braves game. Sadly, he wasn’t under the influence – the Nats’ infield really did let three runs go in on one play, taking them from a 3-3 tie to a 6-3 trailing. My family and I left at the bottom of the 8th, so it’s only now that I’m finding out that right after we left, the Nats managed to get five runs and win 8-6. This seals up a 3-1 victory for the series and leaves the Nats 1.5 games behind the Braves and Marlins.

Also seen/heard tonight: five 20-something guys in pink Nationals hats singing (and I use that term loosely) “Don’t Stop Believing” on an orange line train.

The lesson here is… always stay until the end of the game. :) Unless it’s in Baltimore, because they think we’re not real fans anyway.

Tiff – ha ha my friends and I had that same problem at the Baltimore game we were at on 5/9. We’re all from NoVA and when they saw it on our IDs it was apparently a big shock that we were there to begin with.

My favorite was when the beer vendor got down to us and asked us, about Virginia, “Do you really have Republicans down there in Virginia?” Like it was some sort of rare animal ;)
