Word! I just got back from Vegas on a business trip and I got to see the Killers out there--in their home town no less! At one of the best venues ever (The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel) and it was awesome. Now, maybe I was just high from elbowing the annoying guy next to me in the kidneys so hard that he doubled over and shortly thereafter disappear, but this was a kick ass show. I saw them last year up in NYC (http://nyc.metblogs.com/archives/2004/10/the_killers_are.phtml) and they were awesome, but seeing them in Vegas last week proved that they have totally crystallized as a band. Brandon Flowers' "aw shucks, you think I'm cute" act has been refined with a casing of pure bravado and some good old fashioned showman-ship. He owned that stage with his pink leather jacket
