National Aquarium

Did you know we had a national aquarium here in D.C.? I sure didn’t. While walking up 14th St. yesterday coming from the Cherry Blossoms (and brushing tourists off my shoulder) I saw a sign outside a door in the Dept. of Commerce building that said “National Aquarium . . .” Anyway, I guess we do have a small aquarium, the oldest in the nation, tucked inside the DOC that has sharks and some endangered species. It’s not part of the Smithsonian, so it’s not free, but it’s only $5 and it’s open every day. So, for all you Troy McClure’s out there . . .it might be the fix you need.

…and pretty darn bad, too. No one ever believes me on the disappointment that is the National Aquarium until they see the horror for themselves.

Yeah I’ve been tempted to go in, but after my National Zoo experience, I don’t think DC is meant for animals.
