See them while you can

‘Tis sping, and spring in DC means cherry blossoms. We are currently in the peak bloom period (which is the 4th-9th). I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to going to see the blossoms this weekend, in conjunction with the parade and Sakura Matsuri (literally: cherry blossom festival) street festival. However, although the forecast for today and tomorrow are really nice, Thursday, Friday and Saturday might be wash-outs. If that happens, many of the blossoms might be blown or washed off before the week is over.

If you want to see the blossoms look their prettiest, consider going to see them today or tomorrow. Thanks to daylight savings, sunset isn’t until around 7:30 now, so day workers like myself should have ample time to get down to the basin and enjoy the nice weather.
