I love how an ammendment intended to protect the newly acquired rights of african americans is used as a loophole to allow a woman to sue a man for giving her herpes.

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment14/02.html#1

"Our holding does not affect the Commonwealth's police power regarding regulation of public fornication, prostitution or other such crimes," the opinion said.

And it's interesting to me where people draw the line, as far as what a "priviledge" is. Obviously having extra-marital sex for money in the privacy of your own home is illegal, but if it's free then it's OK.

That's not entirely true, Robbie. The Supreme Court ruled that Texas' law was unconstitutional because it discriminates against gay people. Virginia's law doesn't specify the gender of the participants.

I remember hearing about that, probably when I was in high school. Which was, ironically, the place where people broke that law the most.
